THE WOODLANDS, TX – Right now, we’re in the calm between the rains. What started off our early Monday morning will resume later today, with some strong storms plowing through the area. Moderate winds, a high dew point and maxed-out humidity level, and major cloud coverage will make for one grey day with another half-inch of rain to come this afternoon as we hit a high of 71.

No two days this week are alike

Overnight, the rains will finally die down and the clouds will wander away as we settle for a low of 36, made even chillier by the residual dampness in the air.

Tuesday will be a lot brighter and drier, but the theme for the day is winds. Gusts will kick up to 25 miles per hour, and as the pressure rises as the humidity drops while we hit a high of only 55 degrees – and the dew point goes well below the norm – we’ll have to deal with one chilly day that will actually dip down to freezing that night.

Wednesday will be much brighter and warmer, with only a few clouds in the sky and a high in the upper 60s. The winds will barely blow half as wild as the day before, and we can enjoy some semi-seasonal weather today. But enjoy it while you can, because the clouds and humidity will move in during the evening hours, and our Thursday will be very warm – with a high of 73 – and very wet, with copious showers in the afternoon, evening, and night.

Surprisingly, in the midst of the nighttime rains, a cold front will reestablish itself. The overnight low will plummet from the 60s into the 40s in just a couple of hours, and Friday morning will dawn with wet lawns and sunny skies and a high temperature in the low 50s, with another near-freezing scenario that night.

With fingers crossed, however, we can look forward to a sunny and cool-but-not-frigid weekend…
