MCTX Sheriff Auto Theft Task Force Makes Arrest in Kubota Theft

CONROE, TX -- On January 23, 2024, the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force was notified by a private citizen who felt uncertain about the legitimacy of the Mini-Excavator that he purchased from an individual. The Auto Theft investigators confirmed the excavator was stolen out of Pearland, Texas and identified a suspect.

On January 24, 2024, Task Force Investigators went to the 10000 block of North Crystal Springs Circle, Conroe, Texas, to make contact with the suspect. Upon arrival, members of the Auto Theft Task Force observed additional equipment parked at the residence. During their investigation, they found a Kubota Mini-Excavator stolen out of Dayton, Texas and a Kubota Skid Steer Loader stolen out of Hempstead, Texas. The estimated value of the equipment is $185,000.

The suspect, who is identified as 53-year-old, Jose Carrizalez, was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was charged with Felony Aggregate Theft.

The Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force is a multi-agency task force in part funded and trained by The Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority.
