Fire devastates CubeSmart on Sawdust; surrounding roads closed

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The CubeSmart Self Storage at 765 Sawdust Rd received significant damage overnight as crews battled a five-alarm fire from last evening until well into this morning. Though the fire was brought under control at approximately 7 o'clock this morning, crews are still on site to move damaged items and keep an eye out on re-flares.

Traffic is being diverted from the area as surrounding roads are closed. Commuters wishing to get from Sawdust to I-45 should take Sawmill north to Grogan's Mill and turn right. Access to the Walmart and other shops is unaffected.

Woodlands Online contacted the CubeSmart corporate offices, where a representative stated that the fire was still under investigation, and that renters of spaces at the facility would soon be contacted by local managers via telephone and email.
