THE WOODLANDS, TX – Though we woke up shivering this morning from another overnight low in the 30s, things are warming up quickly, and the trend will last for the entire week.

It might actually hit 80 this week

Your Presidents Day Monday looks to be a fine one for taking the day off and getting some fresh air. The humidity is already plummeting (but will eventually start to rise again) and the wind will keep picking up for a few hours under sunny skies that will make it up to 67 for the high.

Overnight we’ll only get down into the mid 40s for a low under starry skies. Tuesday morning we’ll get a whiff of clouds and the smallest chances of a few sprinkles, but overall things will be just like Monday, only ten degrees hotter on the thermometer. The afternoon high will be up to 77 and our low will barely make it into the mid 50s.

On Wednesday, a lot of clouds will come barging in throughout the morning, helping to warm things up, and we might have some greater chances for light rain. The high will settle to just under the magical 80 mark, but fortunately brisker winds will make it feel cooler. In late afternoon, the winds will peak and the clouds will start to disperse for a bit, but never entirely go away. Our overnight low will hang around the mid 60s.

Thursday will be our warmest day yet as the pressure front hits rock bottom and clouds blanket a majority of the horizon. The mercury will actually climb to 81, and fortunately there won’t be an additional heat index due to the dropping humidity. Surprisingly, our overnight low into Friday will be about 10 degrees cooler than the night before, settling once again in the 50s.

On Friday, things will kind of even out with the temperature once again settling into the mid 70s for a high and the upper 40s for a low. Clouds will play nice and there’s not really a chance of rain dampening your spirits.

The warming trend will continue over the weekend, and we might actually see more days in the 80s next week than not…

Stay tuned to Woodlands Online for our Weekend Weather report coming on Friday.
