Commissioner Charlie Riley Announces Start of Road Reconstruction on Hardin Store Road Montgomery County Precinct 2

Commissioner Charlie Riley of Montgomery County Precinct 2 is pleased to announce that reconstruction efforts will soon begin on Hardin Store Road, one of the many infrastructure improvements made possible by the 2025 Road Bond approved by voters during the most recent election cycle.

Construction will begin at the east end of the 4.35-mile stretch of Hardin Store Road, near FM 2978. The first phase of the project will focus on the section closest to Smith Elementary School. Crews will prioritize this area in hopes of completing it before the start of the upcoming school year, minimizing disruption for students, parents, and staff.

The project will progress in phases moving westward along Hardin Store Road toward SH 249. These critical upgrades reflect the community’s continued support and shared commitment to safe and reliable infrastructure.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for additional travel time during the construction period and to exercise caution when driving through the work zones.
