The John Cooper School Middle School Students Give Back to Students Facing Food Insecurity

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The John Cooper Middle School Club “Cooper Connects” students assembled breakfast bags for the Montgomery County Food Bank as part of a pilot program. These bags will be distributed to the local school counselors to have on hand for students who miss or do not have access to breakfast in the mornings.

Some of the donated items that were used in these breakfast bags included milk, protein bars, fruit bars, and fruit cups.

"Our students are enthusiastic and excited to give back. We are proud of their efforts and leadership in raising awareness, organizing, and driving these efforts," said Ms. Elizabeth Gomez, Middle School Counselor at The John Cooper School.

The Cooper Connects Club promotes connections with present and future members of The John Cooper School community by providing students with events and activities throughout the year. The club gives student leaders an active role in provoking positive change within the campus by promoting The John Cooper School, fostering, and maintaining relationships in a positive, inclusive school environment with current students, and facilitating the transition of new students to the Cooper community.

The John Cooper School remains steadfast in its mission to provide a challenging education in a caring environment to a diverse group of select students, enabling them to become critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, responsible citizens and leaders, and lifelong learners.
