Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down I-45 Southbound at Rayford/Sawdust

SPRING, TX -- A devastating two-vehicle collision has claimed the lives of three individuals and injured several others on Interstate 45 near the Rayford/Sawdust exit.

Authorities report that a pickup truck rear-ended a disabled van that was blocking the left lane. The van was carrying seven passengers, including a child. Tragically, two men and one woman lost their lives in the crash. Four other individuals from the van, along with the driver of the pickup truck, were transported to the hospital with injuries.

As a result of the accident, all southbound lanes of I-45 at Rayford/Sawdust remain closed, with traffic being diverted off at the Rayford/Sawdust exit. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the area.

Montgomery County officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details are available at this time.
