Melanie K. Bush Nominated for the Texas Outstanding County Treasurer Award

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The County Treasurer’s Association of Texas (CTAT) has announced the nomination of Montgomery County Treasurer Melanie K. Bush for the prestigious Texas Outstanding County Treasurer Award by Region 11. This recognition highlights Treasurer Bush's exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to her duties.

CTAT’s mission is to provide continuing education and promote the highest ethical standards for county treasurers. As Texas County Treasurers, members adhere to an oath of office, swearing to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States and the State of Texas. Treasurer Bush has exemplified these values in her work overseeing the collection and management of funds in Montgomery County since she was first elected in 2018.

In her role, Treasurer Bush is responsible for managing the county’s finances, including overseeing the collection of funds, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of county funds, disbursement of all county funds, and investment of funds. She works with other county departments to guarantee the integrity of the county’s financial operations.

In addition to her role as County Treasurer, Melanie K. Bush has built a thriving bookkeeping service since 2010, providing vital financial services to local businesses and individuals. Her deep understanding of fiscal management has been invaluable assets to her work in public service.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melanie has been an active community leader. She previously served as President for the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees. She has also held many other organizational board positions and volunteers with numerous non-profits.

Currently, Melanie serves on the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce Board and remains deeply involved in her community. As a dedicated member of Hope Church, she and her husband, Alan, actively contribute to the children’s ministries. The Bush family enjoy spending time together and prioritize their faith and community involvement.
