Galdisa USA to Double Production Capacity, Workforce With $15m Expansion in Conroe

CONROE, TX --For more than a half-century, Galdisa has been wholeheartedly committed to the products and operations of its peanut processing and distribution. That peanut passion has delivered resounding success and resulted in a wondrously rapid step to expand the company’s United States headquarters in Conroe.
“We take a lot of pride in what we have accomplished,” Victor Galindo Jr., CEO of the Galdisa Group, remarked in reference to Galdisa USA’s recent announcement of the expansion of its Conroe peanut ingredient processing facility.
Founded in Mexico in 1957, Galdisa opted to build its first U.S. plant in Conroe. Less than a decade after the facility’s grand opening in 2018, the family-owned company is already doubling its production capacity in the form of a $15 million expansion.
“It speaks volumes about our service and how we’ve been able to leverage the great team and technology we have here in Conroe to meet a growing demand,” Galindo Jr. said. “We have been able to really penetrate the market and offer better peanut ingredient solutions to manufacturers.”
When asked to identify a key driver in Galdisa USA’s decision to expand on its 10-acre lot in the Conroe Park North industrial park, Galindo Jr. praised the dependability his plant showcases and pinpointed the trust his team has earned from manufacturers. As Galdisa USA is rewarding customers’ belief with its high-quality products, the company’s own belief in the city of Conroe has yielded favorable results, too.
“We put our faith in doing things here in Conroe and it has turned out well,” Galindo Jr. shared. “We've had the support of the city since the beginning. They helped us to find the best place to build our plant and were also very open to our expansion.”
At its current capacity, Galdisa USA sees an estimated 2,000 truckloads drive in and out of its Conroe site on an annual basis as roughly 40 million pounds of product are handled each year. With the increased square footage and the addition of an extra production line by way of expansion, the Conroe facility expects to handle at least 80 million pounds of product by the time it becomes fully operational in 2026.
“This will help manufacturers receive better ingredients with more value, and they’ll be able to translate that value to the end customer,” Galindo Jr. explained when citing the ways in which this investment will have a direct and indirect benefit on multiple levels.
In addition to plans to nearly double the workforce at Galdisa’s Conroe plant, Galindo Jr. highlights the forthcoming economic impact of having double the number of truck drivers spending money on fuel, food and lodging in Conroe as they transport twice as much product to and from the expanded facility.
“The city of Conroe understood how important this project was to the city and the region,” Galindo Jr. revealed. “It will continue to help the city diversify its industries, create additional jobs and have a significant impact on the economy.”
Rich in vitamins and minerals, peanuts have long been identified as an excellent source of nutrients. Galdisa USA’s resolve to commit to Conroe is viewed as an excellent source of local impact.
