Life sentence for convicted child abuser

THE WOODLANDS, TX – On Monday, April 21, prosecutors Laura Bond and Erin Delano selected a jury in the 9th District Court with Judge Phil Grant presiding. The accused in the case was Christopher Roy Flores, charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, a first degree felony.
Over the course of the trial, jurors heard testimony from eleven witnesses, including law enforcement officers, a forensic interviewer, medical professionals, forensic scientists, family members, and most importantly, the child victim.
After days of emotional testimony and unshakable truth, a Montgomery County jury assessed the only sentence fit for such a crime – life in prison with no chance of parole.
“The verdict stands as a powerful reminder that in this county, we protect our children and hold offenders fully accountable,” said the District Attorney’s Office in a statement.
The victim bravely described the ongoing abuse she suffered at the hands of the defendant. Following the guilty verdict, prosecutors presented additional evidence during the punishment phase, including the defendant’s prior convictions for Assault Family Violence, Terroristic Threat, and Felony Theft.
The jury also heard powerful testimony from the victim and her family, who described the long-lasting emotional and psychological toll the abuse has taken on her life.
Given the serious nature of the offense, the defendant faced a sentencing range of 25 years to life in prison. The jury swiftly returned a sentence of life in prison, and under Texas law, the defendant is not eligible for parole.
“This verdict sends a clear message: children will be heard, believed, and protected. Her courage brought justice, and this life sentence ensures he can never harm another child again,” said Assistant District Attorney Laura Bond.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office remains committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of the community and holding offenders accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
“This victim’s courage stopped a predator. The jury’s verdict makes one thing clear: in Montgomery County, we protect our children, and predators pay with their freedom,” said District Attorney Brett Ligon.
