MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Cinco de Mayo has become one of the holidays most associated with drunk driving incidents, with nearly one-third of crashes involving an impaired driver. In response, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is proud to organize a multi-agency DWI Task Force aimed at reducing impaired driving deaths and making our roads safer for everyone.

Under the leadership of Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, law enforcement officers from across Montgomery and Harris Counties representing 16 agencies, have joined forces with a clear and united message: safety, cooperation, and adherence to the law are expected, and those who choose to break the law will face arrest.

Starting May 2nd through May 5th, officers from across the region will be out in force, supporting a NO REFUSAL DWI enforcement initiative, in continued partnership with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. If you plan to celebrate with adult beverages this holiday weekend, please do so responsibly. Use a ride share program, designate a sober driver, or celebrate safely from home.

Together, we can make a difference.
