Fatal Shooting at 1485 East RV Park: 67-Year-Old Man Killed in Ongoing Dispute with Neighbor

NEW CANEY, TX -- On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting at the 1485 East RV Park, located near the 24000 block of FM 1485.

Upon arrival, Patrol Deputies found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies and EMS personnel immediately began life-saving measures; however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Several witnesses observed the incident, and deputies were able to detain the suspect, who remained at the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators, along with Investigators from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, initiated an investigation.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and suspect were neighbors in the RV Park. They’ve continuously had ongoing disputes in which today, the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.

The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Billy Fisher. The suspect is currently detained while detectives continue their investigation; his name will be released once he is officially in custody. This is an isolated incident involving only the victim and the suspect.
