Keep tabs on water projects, issues, and repairs with the SJRA Project Viewer

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The San Jacinto River Authority, a government agency whose mission is to develop, conserve, and protect the water resources of the San Jacinto River basin, including in all of Montgomery County.
The authority is made up of five divisions:
- Highlands Division – The oldest division of SJRA dating back to 1937, the Highlands Division provides water to industrial clients through a 27-mile system of canals.
- Lake Conroe Division – Their primary job is to operate and maintain the Lake Conroe Dam and Spillway in order to preserve the essential water resources that the Division’s municipal and industrial customers depend upon.
- Woodlands Division – This division, working for 11 Municipal Utility Districts, provides The Woodlands with wholesale water supply as well as wastewater treatment.
- GRP Division – The Groundwater Reduction Plan (GRP) Division works to protect the future water supply by balancing the use of groundwater and surface water sources.
- Flood Management Division – The goals of this division focus on short- and long-term regional flood management strategies.
At any given moment, SJRA has various projects underway throughout the local service area. In an effort to strive to be as transparent as the water we drink, the authority has available to the public its Project Viewer, an easy-to-use interface that maps out what is going on with the authority, showing the sites of, listing, and detailing any issues, studies, projects, and repairs.
The viewer is available at https://www.sjra.net/about/projects/.
