Quick Response by Firefighters Contained Early Morning Garage Fire in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 2:06 a.m. this morning, The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Driftoak Circle in the Village of Cochran’s Crossing. Upon arrival, first units on scene—Truck 104 and Battalion 102—reported heavy fire showing from a detached garage at a single-family residence.
The call was immediately upgraded to a working fire, prompting a full response that included three engines, two ladder trucks, a rescue truck, and two medic units. Firefighters launched an aggressive offensive attack and, after forcing entry into the garage, successfully brought the blaze under control.
Thanks to functioning smoke alarms, the residents were alerted in time and were able to evacuate the home safely before firefighters arrived. #SmokeAlarmsSaveLives
The detached garage sustained significant fire damage, but due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of fire crews, the flames were prevented from spreading to the main house.
TWFD was assisted on scene by Needham Fire & Rescue / Montgomery County ESD #4, Montgomery County ESD No. 10 / Magnolia Fire Department, and Montgomery County Hospital District. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office.
