Stay Safe This 4th of July in Montgomery County!

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The 4th of July is almost here, and while we're all looking forward to celebrations, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office wants to remind everyone about staying safe. Our call volume goes way up during holidays, and our top priority is the safety of everyone in our county and their property.
As you finalize your celebration plans, please keep these important tips in mind so we can focus on serious safety concerns:
Fireworks are LEGAL in the unincorporated areas of Montgomery County.
Deputies cannot respond to instruct your neighbors to stop discharging fireworks.
Please remember that law enforcement cannot enforce HOA deed restrictions.
We're also asking everyone to refrain from "celebratory" gunfire. It's not just illegal; it's incredibly dangerous and can have deadly consequences.
Finally, if you're celebrating with alcohol, please drink responsibly and always use a designated driver or a ride-share service.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
