MAGNOLIA, TX -- Texas Autism Academy is pleased to welcome Kelly Bivens, M.Ed to the TAA Board of Directors. Kelly is a Board Certified, Licensed Behavior Analyst – TX, and currently co-owns and operates Path Finder ABA Services, PLLC, serving children and adults in family and group homes as well as schools.
Texas Autism Academy (TAA) is a 501C(3), tuition funded, fully accredited private school celebrating its 9th year serving area children medically diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.

Cary Mollinedo, Co-Founder and President of TAA said, “We are very excited to have Kelly Bevins on our board. Kelly’s extensive experience and knowledge in designing and managing comprehensive and focused ABA programs will be a definite benefit to our students.”

Mollinedo continued, “Scientifically developed and proven Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) tools and technology may be used by a private school to develop tailor made programs for each individual student, but the Texas Education Agency currently does not allow their use in either public or even charter schools. TAA does so successfully on an ongoing basis.”

Kelly graduated with a master’s degree in special education through the Educational Psychology program at the University of Houston in 2004. She was a certified teacher in the state of Texas and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), licensed in the state of Texas. She initially worked in various in-home ABA programs under the supervision of local and national leaders in the field of Behavior Analysis serving children ranging from 2-12 years old. She provides consultations and training, and partners with two educational settings in the Houston area.

Kelly became a certified teacher in the state of Texas and spent 3 years as a teacher in specialized settings for young children with disabilities. She helped start one of the first day treatment programs in the Houston area in 2004 to serve children with autism and has since founded and started several additional day treatment programs which utilize insurance as a primary funding source to serve children and adolescents with autism to help combat the growing need for services.

Our COGNIA accreditation allows TAA to continue our student’s education through 12th grade as well as connecting us with resources beyond graduation. Accreditation by COGNIA is a multi-year process that only a few schools have achieved. It means continuous improvement and standards that must be reviewed and updated every five years. Although costly, this is a true benefit to the students, as our students can now graduate with a credentialed high school diploma.

Texas Autism Academy offers small student to teacher ratios, certified teachers who strive for yearly grown and expansion of student experiences, over 50 years of combined experience and K-12 education.
