Nominations Now Open for 2026 Hometown Heroes in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Since 1999, The Woodlands community has celebrated the spirit of service through the Hometown Hero program, launched during the township’s 25th anniversary. Since then, 169 individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations have received this distinguished recognition for their outstanding contributions.
Now, the search begins once again. Nominations are open for the 2026 class of Hometown Heroes—those who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact in the lives of others and bring pride to The Woodlands.
Each nomination is carefully evaluated by a committee of past recipients, ensuring that every honoree truly reflects the best qualities of the community. These heroes are known for their selflessness, leadership, and commitment to service. They may be volunteers, role models, or public servants. Some have sacrificed personal gain to reach noble goals. Others have received awards or achieved milestones that bring positive recognition to the area. All embody the values The Woodlands holds dear: strong families, education, the arts, environmental responsibility, and diversity.
To nominate someone, community members can either mail a completed nomination form to the Hometown Hero Selection Committee at Interfaith of The Woodlands or email a digital copy to development@woodlandsinterfaith.org.
The nomination period runs from Friday, August 1, 2025, through Monday, September 1, 2025.
