CISD Alum Biking 4000 Miles to Alaska to Raise Money for Cancer Awareness

OAK RIDGE, TX -- Brandon Foskett, an alum of Oak Ridge High School (2019), is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the spring of 2023, also at UT Austin. Alongside his studies, he joined Texas 4000 For Cancer, a student leadership non-profit organization on campus. The charity group raises money for cancer research and support services and in turn completes a legendary bike ride from Texas to Alaska to raise awareness of the group's mission: sharing hope, knowledge, and charity in the fight against cancer. In the summer of 2026, Brandon will be biking 4,000+ miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska over the course of 70 consecutive days to raise money for cancer research and support services! The team requires that each of its members raise at least $7,500 individually. Even though he spends the majority of his time studying in Austin now, he would like to garner as much 'hometown' support as possible!
