Houston Community to Hold Candlelight Prayer Vigil for Charlie Kirk
HOUSTON, TX -- In a heartfelt tribute to Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a steadfast voice for faith and American values, the Houston community is invited to a Candlelight Prayer Vigil.
The event is being organized by Kirk's longtime friends to bring together allies to share memories of Kirk's unwavering faith in Jesus and his profound love for America. An outpouring of support is expected to reflect on Kirk's life while calling for peace and civility in an increasingly violent political environment.
Jacob Jack Way, Founder of Red State Solutions and a longtime supporter of Charlie Kirk, felt a deep calling to help bring this community together. “I felt a divine calling to step up and organize this vigil. People are hurting and need closure. This faith-based gathering is meant to honor his legacy and carry it forward. Everything he stood for was rooted in faith. This is a solemn moment of remembrance, not a protest or a rally.
"What I respected most about Charlie Kirk is the way he lived out the freedoms our country was built upon (speech, religion, and assembly. I’ve seen him give every voice a chance, listen with respect, and create the kind of healthy debate that makes those freedoms matter.”
The vigil will feature shared stories, prayers, and candlelight to symbolize hope and unity, drawing from the biblical call in Isaiah 6:8: "Here am I, Lord, send me!"
WHO: Organized by Jacob Jack Way, Founder of Red State Solutions. Open to the public, and will feature remarks from Kirk's friends, supporters, and community members.
WHAT: Candlelight Prayer Vigil honoring Charlie Kirk's memory, featuring shared stories, prayers, and a call for peace in the political landscape.
WHEN: Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Discovery Green, Downtown Houston – 1500 McKinney Street – Houston, TX. (Metered street parking, garages, and surface lots available).
Jacob Way emphasized the event's focus on healing: "In these turbulent times, Charlie's example teaches us that true strength comes from faith, not division. Let's gather to honor him by choosing peace over violence. This isn’t just a farewell—it’s a battle cry for all of us to step up, just as Charlie did, and make America a place of grace and resolve.”
