AUSTIN, TX -- Texas TransformED, the independent, nonpartisan coalition working to make Texas No. 1 in public education, today announced the appointment of Rob Eissler, former Chairman of the Texas House Public Education Committee, to its Board of Directors.

With nearly 30 years of experience in shaping Texas education policy, Rob Eissler brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Texas TransformED team. His impressive background includes serving 18 years on the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees and a decade in the Texas Legislature, including six years as the Chair of the House Public Education Committee. Throughout his legislative career, Eissler was instrumental in implementing nationally recognized reforms in the public school accountability system and received bipartisan accolades for his tireless advocacy for student success.

"Rob's experience at the legislature and his commitment to data-driven solutions are mission critical,” said Robbye Kirkpatrick, co-founder of Texas TransformED. “This transformation will require vision, leadership, culture change, data, and execution. Rob embodies all of those things. We are thrilled to have him on board.”

A graduate of Princeton University and a dedicated Navy veteran, Eissler has made The Woodlands his home for over three decades, where he has been recognized for his outstanding community leadership. His numerous accolades include honors from the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, Texas PTA, and Texas Music Educators Association, as well as being named one of Texas Monthly's “Top 10 Legislators” in 2009.

"Rob's passion for improving education for every student, combined with his long history of bipartisan collaboration, makes him an invaluable addition,” said Texas TransformED co-founder, Ashley B. Cash. “He understands that transformational change requires bringing key data forward with transparency, and his commitment to evidence-based solutions will help advance educational opportunities for all students."

"I am passionate about enhancing Texas schools and truly believe that Texas TransformED represents the bold movement we need to fulfill our promise of preparing all students for life after graduation,” said Eissler. “It’s an honor to join this incredible coalition, and I’m eager to collaborate on solutions that make Texas No. 1 in public education."
