THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Magnolias Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter volunteer organization, partnered with Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center for its 12th Annual “Bag Bee” event, an initiative supporting local breast cancer patients. Sixty-eight volunteers joined together to sew 100 handcrafted tote bags, continuing a beloved tradition that has provided comfort and encouragement to cancer survivors across the community.

“Canopy provides vital support to individuals navigating cancer treatment and recovery,” said Bag Bee Coordinator Catherine Nunez. “Through this event, our members help extend that care in a meaningful way. These teen girls and their moms have touched hundreds of lives by sewing beautiful black tote bags lined with pink fabric for patients to use during chemotherapy.”

So far this year, NCL The Magnolias’ mother-daughter teams have contributed more than 4,160 volunteer hours to over a dozen local organizations, including Easter Seals, The Woodlands Children’s Museum, Interfaith The Woodlands, and Meals on Wheels. The Chapter has also supported Project Linus, The Champion Project, and Little Angel Network, reflecting a deep and ongoing commitment to serving The Woodlands community through hands-on volunteerism.

“Our members are dedicated to showing up with purpose and compassion,” said NCL The Magnolias Chapter President Rola Hart. “The Bag Bee is a beautiful example of how simple acts of service can make a lasting difference for those in our community who need it most.”
