New Caney Man Arrested After Road Rage Shooting in Valley Ranch; Suspect Charged with Aggravated Assault and Drug Possession
NEW CANEY, TX -- On October 29, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office detectives, with the assistance of the MCSO SWAT team and patrol deputies, arrested a New Caney man in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 9, 2025.
The incident began as a road rage event in the early morning hours of October 9, 2025, near the 21200 block of Valley Ranch Parkway. An 18-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound, while three other occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.
Through the course of their investigation, detectives with the Major Crimes Unit identified Austen Ringo of New Caney as the suspect in the shooting. A pre-dawn search warrant was executed on October 29, 2025, in the 21000 block of Cherry Street, where Ringo was taken into custody without incident.
Ringo was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail with no bond.
