Foxconn seeks to hire Lone Star College System students and graduates
HOUSTON, TX -- As major tech companies expand their presence across the Houston region, industry leaders are working to fill entry- and professional-level positions. Lone Star College System students and alumni are invited to a Foxconn Career Fair on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 1-4 p.m. at the LSC-North Harris Conference Center, 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive, Houston.
A global leader in technology solutions, Foxconn designs, builds and delivers innovative products in partnership with global brands. Opportunities for manufacturing and technology jobs are expanding locally as Foxconn recently expanded into Houston’s Fallbrook neighborhood.
“Lone Star College System is proud to team up with tech industry leaders like Foxconn, helping strengthen Houston’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation,” said Chantell W. Link, Ph.D., LSCS Chief of Industry Partnerships and Career Advancement. “Helping connect students to quality employment opportunities is a top priority for us, so this partnership is a win-win for the region’s workforce.”
Some of the roles Foxconn officials are filling include:
- Asset management
- Line leader
- Process improvement
- Product technology
- Project coordination
- Project management
- Production control
- Warehouse operations
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma and should bring multiple copies of their resume to the event. All majors are welcome, but ideal candidates have backgrounds in business, human resources, logistics, manufacturing, machining, electronics, engineering, engineering technology, computer networking or inspection technology.
“At Lone Star College System, we want to equip students to confidently compete in the workforce, but we’re also here to help guide them to great employment opportunities,” said Mario K. Castillo, J.D., LSCS chancellor. “Industry partnerships like this one help our students find their place in the workforce and strengthen the community by making quality jobs accessible.”
