Tomball ISD Board approves significant pay increase for bus drivers

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Tomball Independent School District has announced that it is increasing the base pay rates for its school bus drivers.

In a statement released by Tomball ISD Superintendent, Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora, the district stated:

Dear Tomball ISD Families,

We are pleased to share that the Tomball ISD Board of Trustees has approved TISD Administration’s recommendation for a significant pay increase for our bus drivers.

On November 15th, the following starting hourly rates for bus drivers will take effect:

• Full-Time Bus Drivers(CDL) - $25.00 per hour
• Bus Drivers in Training - $20.00 per hour
• Substitute Bus Drivers - $22.00 per hour
• Non-CDL Driver(White Fleet) - $17.00 per hour

This decision reflects Tomball ISD’s ongoing commitment to investing in our people — especially those who play a vital role in keeping our students safe and connected to school each day. Our bus drivers are the first to greet our students in the morning and the last to send them home in the afternoon. Their professionalism, care, and dedication truly make a difference in the lives of our students and families.
