Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit Assists Dallas PD in Felony ATM Theft Arrests
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) successfully apprehended two individuals following a felony ATM burglary/theft that occurred in the Dallas area. The arrests were a direct result of effective interagency collaboration between the MCSO Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), the Dallas Police Department (DPD) Crime Reduction Unit, and the Huntsville Police Department.
On November 14, 2025, the MCSO CRU was contacted by the DPD CRU regarding the early morning ATM theft. Information obtained indicated that the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on Interstate 45, likely heading toward the Houston area.
Working collaboratively, the MCSO CRU and the Huntsville Police Department successfully located the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated by Huntsville PD, leading to the apprehension of both occupants.
The individuals were identified as David Hill, 33, and Jerry Gray, 38. Both men were arrested on felony charges to be filed in Walker County. Roadside interviews and evidence collected have provided the Dallas Police Department with the necessary information to file additional felony charges against the occupants for their roles in the ATM burglary/theft. Jerry Gray is known to the MCSO CRU due to his involvement in "bank jugging" incidents. Both males possess extensive criminal histories, including offenses such as money laundering, aggravated robbery, and numerous thefts.
At the time of the arrests, $14,466 was successfully recovered from the suspects and their vehicle.
Sheriff Doolittle’s commitment to working collaboratively with his law enforcement partners is a cornerstone of the MCSO's strategy to keep Montgomery County safe. These partnerships—whether with municipal, county, state, or federal agencies—are vital for tracking and stopping criminals who cross jurisdictional lines. By sharing intelligence, coordinating resources, and executing joint operations, the MCSO ensures a unified and effective front against regional crime, making Montgomery County a safer place for all residents.
