Montgomery Historical Society to host annual Christmas in Historical Montgomery: Where the Holidays Begin! Dec. 13
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery Historical Society has announced that it is hosting its annual Christmas in Historical Montgomery: Where the Holidays Begin! event on December 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The event will feature the Holiday Marketplace, the best place to buy unique, one-of-a-kind gifts and home décor from the many vendors on the grounds surrounding the Old Community Building at 14420 Liberty. The Arts & Crafts Sale will run from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
There will also be the 35th annual Cookie Walk. Choose beautiful and delicious holiday cookies and candies by the pound. The Montgomery Monarchs Chapter of the National Charity League takes on the week-long difficult task of decorating, staging and replenishing trays all day. Visitors will be given gloves and a box(es) to use while making selections of sweets to purchase. This event will run from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. – or when the cookies and candies are all gone – inside the Old Community Center at the corner of Liberty and Caroline Streets.
The fun continues after sundown. From 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., the 48th Annual Candlelight Tour will guide you on a walking tour of more than a dozen historic buildings and private homes, beautifully decorated to reflect the historical charm of each building. Luminarias lead the way to each building on the tour. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students and children, and art available online beforehand at mhs-tx.org or on the day starting at 11:00 a.m. at the N.H. Davis Museum and Rustic Cashmere Antiques, both on Liberty St.
Funds generated from this event go toward the preservation of the historical buildings owned by the Montgomery Historical Society and for scholarships presented annually to two well-deserving seniors from Montgomery ISD high schools. The Montgomery Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
