Coushatti Trace DAR Chapter Dedicates Bench at Veterans Memorial Park
CONROE, TX -- At the Saturday Veterans Day ceremony of the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission at the Veterans Flag Park in Conroe earlier this month, the Coushatti Trace Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, dedicated a bench on the terrace of the Honored Mission Veterans Museum. The gray granite bench was installed and dedicated on November 8th, by Regent Jan Cook, who performed the ritual coveted by the DAR upon the installation of a public monument.
With the America 250 Celebrations coming in July 2026, recognizing the Founding of America in 1776, the bench arrives just in time at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial to celebrate the birth of Our Nation. Now the youngest who remembered the 1976 celebration will be in their mid-50’s, and will be celebrating the occasion with their grandchildren. The bench dedication was held in conjunction with the local Freedom Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution bench dedication. The DAR also thanked Texas Gravestone Care for the donation in constructing and supporting the bench.
The DAR bench will make a wonderful addition to the Veterans Memorial Flag Park, bringing awareness to American sacrifices on Our Nation’s conflicts from the American Revolution to those in Iraq and Afghanistan. The hope is that families will sit on the bench in the reflections of the sacrifices of their Veterans doing their duty for their country, and in remembrance of those members of the Armed Forces who have fallen in battle during America’s trying times.
