CONROE, TX -- Lone Star College–Montgomery invites prospective students to take the next step in their Maverick journey through upcoming Next Start courses. Designed with flexibility in mind, these shorter-term courses allow students to align their education with their personal schedules while continuing progress toward their academic and career goals.

“Lone Star College’s Next Start offers students various academic and workforce courses each semester that can easily fit into their busy schedules,” said Dr. Juan Lebron, LSC–Montgomery interim vice president of student success. “Additionally, Next Start allows students to earn a degree, transfer to a university, or quickly enter the workforce at an accelerated pace.”
LSC–Montgomery will offer Next Start courses beginning in January through mid-March. These 8- to 14-week sessions offer a streamlined, high-quality path for students to remain on track toward their academic and professional goals. The accelerated courses are available in online, in-person, and hybrid formats with day, evening, and weekend options to accommodate a wide range of schedules. This variety offers students full flexibility, with registration remaining open until the first day of each class.
Next Start courses support students at every stage of their educational journey toward a degree or career-ready credential on a timeline that works for them. Whether students are working toward an associate degree, a workforce certificate, or transferable university credits, they can choose the learning environment that suits them best.
For the Spring 2026 semester, 8-week courses start on January 20, 12-week courses begin on February 16, and 14-week courses start on February 2. Prospective students can register for classes online 24/7. In-person support is also available at the LSC-Montgomery campus during normal business hours.
Lone Star College–Montgomery remains committed to its mission as an open-enrollment institution, helping every student start, continue, or complete their educational journey regardless of the time of year.
