Start 2026 with flexible class options at Lone Star College System
HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College System’s spring 2026 semester kicks off Jan. 20 and will wrap up in mid-May. However, students needing more flexibility can opt for Next Start sessions, which are accelerated courses that happen throughout the semester.
“We at Lone Star College System understand that the traditional 16-week semester isn’t everyone’s preferred option,” said Seelpa Keshvala, Ph.D., LSCS executive vice chancellor, Academics. “Next Start classes are a great option for students looking to complete their degree plans sooner or who simply need more flexibility in their schedules.”
Day, night and weekend classes are available in the Next Start program. Class schedules run from eight to 14 weeks, with start dates happening in January, February, March and April. LSCS offers more than 200 degree and certification programs.
“Lone Star College System’s wide range of courses allowed me to branch out and take classes in areas like creative writing and philosophy, which opened my eyes to new interests. These experiences helped me see how different areas of study are connected and how each one contributes to a broader understanding of the world around us,” said Kamryn Bonds, LSC-Houston North student.
Next Start classes are available at all eight LSCS campuses, including in-person, online and hybrid options. Students can register up to the first day of each class. Learn more at LoneStar.edu/Class-Start-Options.
