Full List of Candidates for March 3 Primary Elections in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Woodlands Online has the complete list of all candidates (not counting write-in candidates) of federal, state, and local races to be voted on in the March 3 Primary Elections. These races are inclusive of most residences in The Woodlands area and Montgomery County, not including any possible ballot measures.
The deadline to register for the March 3 elections is February 2. Early voting commences on February 17 and runs through February 27. These ‘Midterm Elections’ consist of numerous offices including major positions such the two local Congressional districts, governor, and attorney general, and reaching to hyper-local positions such as precinct justices of the peace.
The Primaries determine which single member from each party will represent the candidacy for a particular office to be voted upon in the November General Election. Texas does not have official registration for a particular political party, so voters are allowed to vote in either one of the two major slates – Republican or Democrat – to choose their candidates. Texas also does not have straight-ticket voting, so be sure to fill out each individual position when it comes time to cast your ballot.
Woodlands Online encourages residents to ensure they are registered by visiting https://elections.mctx.org/ and to stay tuned throughout the election season to learn as much as possible about the candidates and their positions. Additionally, Woodlands Online’s news editor will be the co-moderator for the February 17 ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum, asking debate-form questions of the two Republican candidates for the Montgomery County Judge position, Mark Keough and Wayne Mack.
