Conroe ISD Emphasizes Student Safety, Campus Expectations Amid Reports of Planned Protests
CONROE, TX -- Conroe Independent School District is aware of online conversations and reports regarding potential student protests. The district respects and values the constitutional right to free expression and remains committed to fostering an environment where students can learn, grow, and engage respectfully.
At the same time, Conroe ISD’s primary responsibility during the school day is to ensure student safety and maintain an orderly, uninterrupted instructional environment.
Students are expected to remain on campus and follow the Conroe ISD Student Code of Conduct and campus procedures at all times. Students may not leave campus without permission from a parent or guardian and proper checkout through the school’s front office. Any early dismissal must follow standard checkout procedures.
Conroe ISD does not permit walkouts, demonstrations, or other actions that interrupt instruction or disrupt school operations during the instructional day. Students are also expected to follow staff directions and campus rules at all times.
Depending on the behavior and circumstances, consequences under the Student Code of Conduct may include:
-
Unexcused absences for leaving campus or skipping class.
-
Disciplinary consequences for interrupting or substantially disrupting instruction.
-
Loss of attendance-based privileges, including exemption or incentive eligibility where applicable.
-
Office referrals and campus-based discipline, such as detention or in-school suspension.
-
Removal from class for persistent or serious disruption.
-
Stronger disciplinary action for defiance of staff directives, unsafe behavior, or organizing disruptions.
-
Serious consequences up to and including suspension, placement in an alternative setting, or legal consequences for involvement in violence, threats, fighting, or behavior that endangers others.
“Our goal is not to be punitive,” said district officials. “Our focus is on keeping students safe, maintaining a calm and secure learning environment, and ensuring every student has access to uninterrupted instruction.”
The district appreciates the partnership of families and the community in reinforcing expectations and encouraging students to make safe, responsible choices.
For updates and official information, families and community members are encouraged to monitor Conroe ISD’s website and official communication channels.
