Market Street Lunar New Year Celebration: Performances on February 19, Photo Opportunities February 17–22

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Market Street is ushering in the year of the horse with luxury shopping destination’s first Lunar New Year celebration Thursday, February 19 at 6:00 pm along with a festive photo opportunity available for guests February 17 – 22.

The Lunar New Year Celebration will include a traditional table and bench show with lion dancers and drums beginning at 6:00 pm in Central Park. The performance is showcased by Soaring Phoenix Dragon & Lion Dance Association, an organization dedicated to raising cultural awareness and generating funds for impoverished communities worldwide through the traditional Chinese art of lion and dragon dancing.

The year of the fire horse officially begins February 17 and occurs only every 60 years. It signifys a time of heightened energy, rapid progress, and bold moves, with traits of hard work, bravery, and independence associated with the horse.

The Lunar New Year photo opportunity will be on display just beneath the Market Street marquee from February 17-22.
