Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Apprehends Violent Felony Suspect After Residential Assault in Spring, TX

SPRING, TX -- On February 15, 2026, at approximately 8:00 AM, Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Patrol Division responded to an assault call in the 100 block of Summer Crest Circle.

Upon arrival, deputies met with a female victim who reported that her ex-boyfriend had forced entry into her home by breaking a window. Once inside, the suspect assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival.

While units were on-scene assisting the victim, a Deputy searching the surrounding area spotted a vehicle matching the suspect's description. This quick observation allowed responding units from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office to successfully locate the suspect and take him into custody without further incident.

The suspect has been identified as Ivan Hernandez Jr. (32) of Spring, TX. Hernandez has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on felony charges of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Other Felony and Assault Family/Household Member – Impeding Breath/Circulation

Hernandez is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
