MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On the evening of February 17, 2026, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended a suspect following an armed carjacking and a high-speed pursuit that spanned multiple jurisdictions.

At approximately 10:35 PM, MCSO Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the 13500 block of Coker Road regarding a robbery. Upon arrival, the victim reported he was approached by an acquaintance identified as 35-year-old Kenneth "Shooter" Bone. The victim stated that Bone produced a firearm and took his vehicle by force.

MCSO Dispatch immediately issued an "Attempt to Locate" alert for Bone and the stolen vehicle. Shortly after, a Texas DPS Trooper notified dispatch that he was behind the vehicle on Highway 105 E.

When the Trooper attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled, leading DPS and assisting agencies on a pursuit. The chase ended when Bone exited the stolen vehicle and jumped into the San Jacinto River. Units on scene pulled Bone from the water, and he was taken into custody.
Kenneth Lee Bone was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault. MCSO Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and continue their investigation into these incidents.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office extends sincere thanks to the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and assistance in this case.
