MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On March 27, 2026, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Patrol Division successfully intercepted two individuals suspected in a multi-jurisdictional ATM burglary following a coordinated law enforcement effort.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a law enforcement notification from the Plano Police Department regarding a recent ATM burglary involving a white 2025 Mazda CX5. Plano PD indicated the vehicle was traveling south toward the Houston area, allowing District 6 Deputies to monitor its path and conduct a successful traffic stop as it entered Montgomery County.

During the roadside investigation, Deputies located a total of $15,854.00 in U.S. currency, consisting primarily of $20 denominations, along with clothing that matched the descriptions of the suspects captured on surveillance during the burglary.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 31-year-old Jaylon Jones and 35-year-old Gertie Jones, both residents of Houston, Texas. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they were charged with Money Laundering $2,500 < $30K, a State Jail Felony. Additional criminal charges related to the initial burglary are expected to be filed by the Plano Police Department as the investigation remains ongoing.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the Plano Police Department for their timely communication and collaboration, which were instrumental in the apprehension of these suspects.
