THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On April 11, 2026, Camp For All, a local nonprofit that transforms the world for children and adults with challenging illnesses, disabilities, or special needs, hosted its annual Over The Edge fundraiser at Howard Hughes Communities’™ iconic The Woodlands® Towers at The Waterway.

50 brave rappelers descended The Woodlands® Towers at The Waterway in a gravity-defying show of adventure and support for Camp For All.

At the event, 50 fundraisers stepped over the edge and turned bold descents into meaningful impact by raising $160,000 for Camp For All. Every dollar raised will help serve nearly 9,000 children and adults of all abilities throughout the year at its 206-acre barrier-free facility in Burton, Texas, where campers discover independence, build confidence, and experience the joy of being themselves.

“Over The Edge is so much more than a fundraising event. It’s also a celebration of community, courage, and possibility,” said Pat Prior Sorrells, President and CEO of Camp For All. “From our brave rappelers to our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters cheering from the ground, every person who joined us helped turn this event into life-changing experiences for our campers.”

Camp For All Goes Over The Edge was sponsored by Howard Hughes Communities, KBR, Shell, Gallagher, Central Insurance, KRIV Fox 26, and the Houston Police Officers’ Union. Camp For All is grateful to Howard Hughes Communities and its team for opening the doors to The Woodlands® Towers at The Waterway for the event and for ensuring a safe day for all.

Camp For All partnered with KRIV FOX26 as the television sponsor for this year’s event, with Emmy Award-winning anchor Melissa Wilson serving as the announcer for the event. “Camp For All is an organization near and dear to my heart,” she said. “Our son Caleb had an amazing experience as a camper. Camp For All provided so much joy when we needed it most. Being part of this event reminds me how much impact we can make when we come together for a great cause.”

Faith Malton, who was born with one arm, returned this year for a third time to support Camp For All and go over the edge. She said, “I love going Over The Edge because it is a meaningful way to shift perspective and challenge the mind. Real growth asks for action, and this is a beautiful opportunity to stretch beyond perceived limits, strengthen the mind, and grow beyond your edges – both metaphorically and quite literally.”

Zack Ruhl, who had both legs amputated at the age of two due to a medical condition, said, “I lost both my legs when I was two, but I never lost my drive. I live for pushing my limits and showing people that the only thing really holding you back is your mind. Rappelling for Camp For All wasn’t just about the drop; it was about proving that fear doesn’t get to decide what you’re capable of. Can’t wait till next year!”

Camp For All is excited to announce a limited-time opportunity for those inspired to take part in next year’s event. Throughout April, the $50 registration fee for the 2027 Camp For All Goes Over The Edge event will be waived. Participants can secure their spot early by registering here with the promo code WAIVE.
