THE WOODLANDS, TX – Robichau’s Jewelry is seeing red this month as the longtime, family-run and community-driven boutique celebrates its ruby anniversary – 40 years in business.

Celebrations include a one-of-a-kind raffle giveaway

Not incoincidentally, rubies represent passion, loyalty, and enduring love – qualities that reflect a marriage – or a family-owned business – lasting four decades. The deep red color of the ruby also symbolizes the strength and resilience of a long-lasting relationship, reflecting the relationship between Robichau’s and the community.

The origins of The Woodlands’ frequently voted Number 1 Jeweler stretch back to 1986 when Jack and Lynda Robichau encouraged family members to loan them the money to create a fine jewelry store in the Township. Armed with family funds and bypassing the bank, Jack and Lynda’s dream came true and Robichau’s Jewelry opened on April 1 of that year. Though those first days were small – the original Sawdust Road doors opened to the public with a mere 12 pieces of jewelry and cases full of wax jewelry molds – Jack was able to pay his family back those startup funds with interest within a year.

For 18 years, Jack and Lynda ran the store and oversaw its move to its current Panther Creek Village location; a second location was opened in 2018 in Spring at Discovery Creek Blvd. In 2014, they passed the reins down to their sons, John, Matt, and Jason. This second generation of Robichaus carries on the family tradition of exceptional customer service. Currently, family members working at the store include John as owner and GIA Diamond Certified Expert, Matt as owner, and Shannon as a Sales Consultant/ Back of House Manager.

John is known throughout The Woodlands as the ‘face’ of Robichau’s. The oldest of Jack and Lynda’s three children, he was just seven years old when his parents founded the store, sparking an early appreciation for fine craftsmanship and customer service. In 2002, he officially joined the company, working under the mentorship of his parents to develop his expertise in the jewelry industry.

“My dad started the store because he wanted to show people how great jewelry could be; how it could be incorporated into your life and passed down to the next generation,” John told Woodlands Online. “With our custom jewelry and repair services along with our sales, we like to show how great it is to have something perhaps handed down to you from your mother and have it changed to a custom piece just for you.”

John has high hopes and strong expectations for his business’ next forty years. “There’s a lot of growth on the horizon; my brothers and I are continuing to grow it since the baton was passed to us,” he told Woodlands Online. “We certainly have no desire to sit on our laurels, and we’re excited to see what the future brings. Whether it’s our kids or someone outside the immediate family, we plan to one day leave this business in excellent hands for decades to come.”

As part of the 40th birthday of the store, John has announced a special raffle giveaway of a custom-made, one-of-a-kind diamond and ruby ring whose design was inspired by Robichau’s customers in the community. For the rest of the month, through April 30, raffle tickets are available for only $100 each. The winning raffle ticket will be announced on the 30th at 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in-store at The Woodlands location or online at www.robichausjewelry.com. Every ticket benefits Mosaics of Mercy, a locally based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps members of the community navigate mental health and substance use recovery resources.
