MCSO Arrests Educator for Indecency with a Child

PORTER, TX -- On May 7, 2026, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Garrett Cross for the offense of Indecency with a Child. The warrant stems from an investigation involving a middle school student during the time Cross was employed at Pine Valley Middle School more than five years ago.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Cross is currently employed by the Humble Independent School District. District officials have since placed Cross on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation.

On May 8, 2026, Garrett Cross turned himself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail.
This investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit in coordination with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Division.
