THE WOODLANDS, TX – Earlier this year, Waste Connections hosted its 17th annual Golf Classic for Kids and VIP Poker Experience, a yearly fundraising event benefiting several local nonprofit organizations.

This year’s event raised an unprecedented $2.5 million, of which $75,000 was awarded to New Danville. Founded in 2005 and based in Willis, New Danville serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those needing similar services, in a rural environment.

“Thanks to the generosity of Waste Connections and everyone involved in New Danville receiving a portion of the proceeds, we can continue providing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to live, learn, work, and grow in dignity” said New Danville representatives in a statement. “Thank you for investing in inclusion, hope, and a brighter future for our Wranglers.”

Additionally, later this month New Danville is hosting a breakfast underwritten by Truluck’s The Woodlands: ‘Work-Life Integration and the Wrangler Way’ featuring Haley Garcia as event chair and keynote speaker. Her talk will explore how the Wranglers at New Danville live with purpose, structure, and support, offering a surprising and inspiring lens through which to view your own journey. Guests will leave with practical takeaways for building a more aligned life, while also discovering the importance of investing in a mission that transforms lives.
