SPRING, TX -- Late last night on May 13, 2026, an MCSO Patrol Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the 29000 block of I-45. After making initial contact with the motorcycle operator, the Deputy returned to his patrol vehicle to verify the driver’s information.

While seated inside his marked patrol unit with emergency lights activated, a Honda CR-V entered the HOV lane illegally, failed to slow down or move over, and struck the patrol vehicle from behind.

The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Units responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the crash investigation.

The Deputy was evaluated at a local hospital and did not sustain serious injuries in the crash. The motorcycle operator was not injured and was protected from the collision by the positioning of the patrol vehicle.

The driver of the Honda CR-V, identified as 24-year-old Abdulazeez Hassan, was evaluated on scene by EMS and refused medical transport.
Further investigation determined that Hassan was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He remains in the Montgomery County Jail at this time.
