MCSO Major Crimes Investigating Homicide in New Caney

NEW CANEY, TX -- On the evening of May 30, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a homeowner in the 20700 block of Stevens Road in New Caney reporting the discovery of an unknown deceased individual in front of their residence upon returning home.

MCSO Patrol Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the individual to be a 15 year old black male who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures, despite these efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

MCSO Major Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded and have launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding this homicide.
