CONROE, TX -- On June 18th, 2026, at approximately 06:14 am, the Conroe Police Department responded to a disturbance with weapons at the Alta Sergeant apartments located at 650 Sgt. Ed Holcomb North. As Conroe Police Officers arrived, they located a 14-year-old juvenile male in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound. Patrol Officers immediately provided medical aid to the 14-year-old, who was alert and conscious. Montgomery County EMS subsequently transported the juvenile victim to a local area hospital.

Conroe Police Officers located the apartment where the juvenile had been shot and discovered that two juvenile male suspects, 14-15 years of age, had been on location at the time of the shooting but had fled the scene before police arrived. Conroe Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the location and are currently investigating the shooting.

A few hours later, both juvenile suspects were located and taken into custody. Both juvenile suspects were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (Felony 2) and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further details can be released at this time. Due to the ages of the victim and suspects, no names will be released.

The juvenile victim is currently in stable condition at a local area hospital. Chief Jon Buckholtz and the Conroe Police Department send their thoughts and prayers to the juvenile victim and his family during this tragic event
