THE WOODLANDS, TX -- In a CISD Student Spotlight video during his senior year at CP, Zac shared openly about his lymphatic malformation, and his aspirations to work in sports reporting despite his challenges.

More than a milestone – Zac overcame eight surgeries on his neck, jaw and tongue to a career on television.

Zac graduated Oklahoma State University in May of 2026 with a BA in Sports Media and was fortunate enough to have a job before he even walked the graduation stage. A week after graduation he packed up, and moved from Stillwater, Oklahoma to Monroe, Louisiana to start his job as an on-air sports reporter/anchor for KNOE 8 with Gray Media, a leading multimedia company that owns and operates television stations across the U.S.

Statistics show only about 20% of college grads have a job by graduation day. And for sports broadcasting, the percentage is even lower with it being one of the hardest fields to break into. But statistics don’t account for spirit, perseverance, and heart.

Zac endured 8 surgeries by age 12, including a tongue reconstruction that left us wondering if he’d ever speak again, but Zac didn't just find his voice; he decided to make it his profession.

From advocating for the Lymphatic Education & Research Network, hosting virtual lymph walks and celebrations, doing speeches, interviews and fundraisers, he has always been a champion for others. See www.zacsattack.com for more.

Zac has always loved sports. Louisiana lives and breathes sports, and the community embraces people with a story. His story and his ability to connect with people and share their stories will endear him to Monroe and beyond.

Zac never led with his lymphatic malformation. He has always worked hard, dedicating himself to learning, and improving his skills and talents. As he said, "I don't want it to be the reason I got a job, or the reason I didn't get a job."

To the boy who spoke the moment he woke up from a tongue reconstruction surgery: We can’t wait to hear what you say next.
