Iron Chef Cat Cora Headlines Montgomery County Food Bank's Inaugural Flourish & Nourish Ladies Luncheon
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank will welcome world-renowned chef, author, and philanthropist Cat Cora as the featured speaker at its inaugural Flourish & Nourish Ladies Luncheon on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at The Blue Magnolia. The event is presented by Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital and co chaired by Montgomery County Food Bank board members Jacqueline Huntsman Calder and Krystle Riley, who serves as Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.
Cora made television history in 2005 as the first female Iron Chef on Food Network's "Iron Chef America" and went on to become the first woman inducted into the American Academy of Chefs Culinary Hall of Fame. Beyond the kitchen, she is the founder and president of Chefs for Humanity, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing hunger through humanitarian relief and nutrition education.
Flourish & Nourish marks a new signature event for Montgomery County Food Bank, bringing women across the county together for an afternoon of food, connection, and purpose. Guests will enjoy an elegant luncheon complete with a champagne reception, "Beauty, Bubbles & Bling" Pull, and a fireside chat and Q&A with Cat Cora, moderated by Houston news anchor Lisa Hernandez of KPRC 2.
Proceeds directly support Montgomery County Food Bank's work to provide food assistance for neighbors facing hunger across Montgomery County. In 2025, the Food Bank distributed more than 10 million nutritious meals, with neighbors turning to the Food Bank an average of 90,000 times every month.
"There is power in a room of women who decide that hunger in their community is a challenge they can help solve," said co-chairs Jacqueline Huntsman Calder and Krystle Riley. "A shared meal has always been a way to bring people together, and at Flourish & Nourish, women will be inspired to help put food on the table for families in need."
"Cat Cora has used her talent and platform to fight hunger around the world, and we're honored to welcome her to Montgomery County," said Scott Burns, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. "Her passion for ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food makes her the perfect voice to help launch Flourish & Nourish and inspire our community to join us in the fight against hunger."
The luncheon begins at 11:00 a.m. at The Blue Magnolia, 1 Whispering Pines St., Magnolia, TX 77354. Tickets, tables, and sponsorship opportunities are available at mcfoodbank.org/flourish.
