THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Love Fosters Hope, a locally based nonprofit organization established to facilitate fostering of kids and teens, has announced its 15th annual Run for Hope running event will take place on Saturday October 3rd, 2026 starting at 7:00 a.m. at The Woodlands Waterway.
This family event will feature lots of fun, breakfast and beautiful scenery while running to raise funds to transform the lives of kids and teens in foster care. Teens and adults and up will be able to enjoy among:
- A one-mile fun run (registration $15 - $30 depending on ages)
- A timed 5K race (registration $40)
- A timed 10K race (registration $50)
Medals will be presented to the overall winners of the 5K and 10K races, along with male and female age group winners. The one-mile event is a fun run or walk event. Face painting, Bounce House and other entertainment will be available for children.
According to national statistics, every four minutes a child aged one to 18 is abused in America; by 18 years of age, 59 percent of kids in foster care are likely to be incarcerated as a juvenile; 3 in 10 of the nation’s adult homeless were foster kids; and less than 2% percent of former foster children earn a college degree. One year after aging out of care, 66% of the young adults are incarcerated, homeless, or dead.
Love Fosters Hope is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that brings hope and healing to children and teens in foster care who have been abused, abandoned, and neglected. They do this through transformational summer camps and year-round programming including mentorship, visits to residential treatment facilities, and by providing a transitional home for teens who have aged out of foster care; whom otherwise would be homeless. The goal of Love Fosters Hope is for every child to grasp that they are significant, valued, worthy, and loved.
