Interfaith of The Woodlands opens nominations for 2027 Hometown Heroes

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Interfaith of The Woodlands, the locally based nonprofit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of thousands of individuals and families each year, recently announced that nominations are open for the annual slate of “Hometown Heroes” that will be recognized at the 2027 Celebration of Excellence gala next February.

Nominations are accepted for those who embody the qualities listed below, leading professional and/or public service efforts that have positively impacted and added to the quality of life of The Woodlands Community.

The first Hometown Heroes were recognized in 1999, as part of The Woodlands 25th Anniversary celebration. Since this time, 178 individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations have received this honor.

Nominations are independently reviewed by a committee of previously awarded Hometown Heroes. The selectees will be announced in early November 2026.

When selecting a potential Hometown Hero, nominators should ask themselves if the person is a positive role model, if they have a history of volunteerism, if they have sacrificed personal gain to achieve noble goals, if they bring positive recognition to The Woodlands, if they embody the values of The Woodlands community in, family values, the importance of education, the arts and culture, environmental consciousness, and if they demonstrate leadership and courage.

Nominees should also have received previous recognition for contributions – economic and otherwise – to the community, show consistent dedication and commitment to worthy causes, be representative of the diversity within the community, and maintain a dedication to public service.
