Woodlands-Area Man Charged With Multiple Child Sexual Abuse Material Felonies, Allegedly Used AI to Create Images

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- In April 2026, Constable Ryan Gable’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding Nicholas Ryan Bunting, 40, of The Woodlands, Texas area. The CyberTip alleged Bunting was in possession of child sexual assault material.

On August 20, 2026, detectives with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, working alongside law enforcement partners assigned to the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a residential search warrant at Bunting’s Woodlands-area residence.
During an interview, Bunting admitted to possessing child sexual assault material on his phone. An on-scene examination of the device located additional suspected child sexual assault material.
Bunting has been charged with:
• One count of Possession of Child Pornography, a first-degree felony
• One count of Possession of Visual Material Depicting Sexual Assault, Victim Under 10, a first-degree felony
• One count of Possession of Visual Material Depicting Sexual Assault, a first-degree felony
• Two counts of Promotion of Child Pornography, second-degree felonies
Detectives further discovered that Bunting allegedly used artificial intelligence to create the two promotional images from material involving a live juvenile victim.
Additional forensic examination of electronic devices recovered during the search remains ongoing. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
