Officer Involved Shooting in Magnolia
MAGNOLIA, TX -- On Saturday August 29 2026, at approximately 11:00pm, an Officer with the Magnolia Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Sugar Bend, just off FM 1774. During contact, the male driver refused to identify himself or exit the vehicle. After opening the driver’s door, to remove the suspect from the vehicle, the suspect attempted to grab an unknown item from the door panel. The Officer then deployed his Taser but that had an unsuccessful result. The suspect again reached for the door panel and this time he was able to retrieve a pistol and raise it towards the Officer. Fearing their lives, both Officers on scene discharged their weapons striking the suspect multiple times. After the male was no longer a threat, Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until EMS and FD personnel could arrive. The suspect was transported to Memorial Herman – The Woodlands Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Texas Rangers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. The suspect is initially being charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, along with a Harris County warrant for Fraud. Additional charges and suspect information to be released later this week.
