The Woodlands Township is holding a Special Board Meeting to adopt the 2027 budget and the 2026 tax rate tonight at 6:00 p.m. The Township is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors. Directors are elected by the community at large to serve two-year staggered terms. The Board of Directors serves as the legislative body, sets policy and approves the budget. All seven Directors are elected by residents of The Woodlands and serve on a volunteer basis. In accordance with state law, meeting notices are posted at least three business days in advance of the scheduled date of the meeting, except as provided by Section 551.045 of the Texas Government Code. Residents may attend in person, or they may watch the meetings online.

The 35th Annual Woodlands Kiwanis Kids Fish Fest is free family fun. They’re all about introducing city and country kids to the sport of fishing, showing them the fun of the outdoors, and teaching them to love and look after nature. Fishing with kids is a great way to build confidence. When kids catch a fish, they will feel a sense of accomplishment. There will be free food and drink and an awards ceremony. This free event is open to kids from toddlers to age 16 and their parents or guardians. Young anglers need to bring their rods, reels, and tackle, but organizers will provide the bait.

The French Courtyard will be offering a free French Class today from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the cafe. This is for beginners and beyond and they would love to see you. You will work as a group through the basics of French and move on from there. This class will be ongoing on the first Saturday of each month.

Celebrate the end of summer with Labor Day in The Woodlands, a fun-filled evening at Waterway Square tonight from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Enjoy live music, children’s activities, face painting and balloon art, strolling entertainment, pie eating contests and a fireworks finale to cap off the night. Live music by Shake Down Band HTX, pie eating contests, and fireworks. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, coolers, and picnic baskets for a relaxing evening outdoors (please note: glass is prohibited). A beverage booth will be on site, and guests are encouraged to support local restaurants before or after the event.
