THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township Transit Department is making a few updates to The Woodlands Express commuter bus service beginning July 1, 2026, to better match rider needs, improve afternoon service, and provide more convenient access to major employment centers.

Designed to improve commuter convenience

Starting July 1, riders will see the following schedule changes:

  • A new 3:10 p.m. departure from Downtown Houston to the Research Forest Park & Ride
  • The current 3:15 p.m. departure from Downtown to Research Forest will move to 3:20 p.m.
  • The 8:10 a.m. Research Forest morning route will be extended to serve the Texas Medical Center, providing more travel options for commuters heading to the Medical Center district.
  • The 1:30 p.m. midday departure from downtown Houston will be discontinued as resources are being allocated to enhance the higher demand afternoon service.

These adjustments are part of the Township’s ongoing commitment to providing reliable, efficient transit service that meets the changing needs of commuters traveling between The Woodlands and Houston.

The Township appreciates the feedback received from riders and will continue monitoring service performance to ensure the best possible commuting experience.
